Navy teams around the world after often enlisted to help with rescue mission, usually stranded boats or wreckages.

In the Indian Ocean, rescuers found themselves in situation they wouldn’t have though possible. They were called in to rescue an elephant, swimming far off the coast.

It was struggling to stay afloat, over ten miles off shore from Kokkilai, Sri Lanka.

They got as close as the could without scaring the elephant, and managed to tie a rope around Jumbo the elephant, to tow him back to the coast slowly.
