Family Live In This Shipping Container Every Day, It’s Different On The Inside 22k
Meet Lulu, a single mom who wanted to go back to college as she felt that the working full-time in a low paling job was not what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. This meant she had less income to pay for rent on a decent house or flat, she made a decision to move into a shipping container with her daughter.
It took Lulu over a month to turn the shipping container into a basic living environment, cutting out the windows, installing a door and basic piping for the kitchen.
Then she and her daughter moved into the 8 by 20 foot square foot home, fitting a bed, couch, bookshelf and kitchen cabinets into the 160 square foot box.
After some time, they decided to move into something larger and eventually moved into a flatbed trailer to accommodate for a larger space.
Using only recycled building materials she built the entire thing for about $4,000 (trailer included).
