Elderly Man Visits His Late Wife’s Memorial Bench And Finds Out Someones Changed It 6k

Bud Caldwell and his wife Betty spent over 56 years living happily together like sweethearts out of a fairytale before she passed away days before her 80th birthday.

After she passed, Bud bought a park bench in her name, at a park they often visited and has visited the bench every day, leaving her favourite flower, a daisy, and a penny on it. It might seem like an odd combination, but they’re a reference to Betty’s favorite two songs, “Daisy a Day” and “Pennies From Heaven”.

However, during the cold winter of 2015, the treacherous conditions of snow, ice and cold winds made it near impossible for Bud to travel to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, everyday to pay his tribute to her.

Two employees at the park noticed that Bud couldn’t make his daily trip and wanted to do something to help his daily commute easier in the bad conditions.
