Everyone got their chance to stardom by appearing on talent search shows such as “America’s Got Talent”. Whether experienced singers or not, those who come on stage to sing their hearts out love the experience. When Maurice Hayes and his daughter Shanice appeared, they introduced themselves as street musicians, giving the judges some indication that they had some practice before and could put on a good show. Coming in form Kansas City, Missouri, the father-daughter duo often had their performances in marching bands and local retirement comes and events. They wanted to see how far their family talent could take them by singing “You’ve Got A Friend” together in the first round. Needless to say, the judges and audience loved it, receiving a standing ovation and propelling them further into the competition. They managed to get all the way to the semi-finals before being eliminated but they’ve become very popular in their home town as a result.
