Music has changed a lot for those who’ve been around for a few decades, music just felt more pure back in the 60’s and 70’s where technology wasn’t able to autotune or have a big impact, instead musicians relied on their own voices. The Mamas and The Papas were a group of four: John Phillips, Denny Doherty, Cass Elliot, and Michelle Phillips came together as a vocal group. One of the songs they’re most known for was their version of “California Dreamin” which had been released a year earlier but didn’t pick up traction until they covered it too. On YouTube alone it has amassed over 116 million views, taking many back to their childhoods and teenage years, where they would have heard it for the first time and rocked along to it.
